hello, thomas here 👋

I am a Filipino-Canadian 🇵🇭🇨🇦 living in NYC. By day I'm a software engineer, data enthusiast, and privacy advocate. By night, I'm a crossword-lover, melomaniac, and wannabe bassist. I love hacking away at personal projects and building actually useful tools as well as more (fun)ctional ones.

Most recently I worked at Meta (fka Facebook) on tooling and infrastructure for the Privacy Org with a focus on regulatory privacy (GDPR, RoPA). This experience helped shaped my view on the importance and value of data privacy. Before that I got the opportunity to work on improving the conversation experience on the Messenger Business Platform (2019) as an intern.

I improved auth data pipelines at LinkedIn (2019) on the Enterprise Platform (EP) team and work orchestration at Uber (2018) on the Maps team as an intern.

Prior to these US-based internships, I tried my hand with full-stack development at D2L (2017), android/QA engineering at theScore (2017), and embedded/android work at BanaLogic (2016).
